CULINARY TEACHER
Chef RV began his teaching career in 2013 at his alma mater, De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde. He also served as a chef-instructor at The Maya Kitchen Culinary Center and at two other colleges in his hometown.
On March 29, 2014, Chef RV opened his own culinary school in Biñan City. Operations were put on hold due to the pandemic, and since then, he has been offering free classes through his YouTube channel.
RESTAURATEUR
In 2017, Chef RV opened his cafe with the vision of making it a destination that would boost tourism in his hometown of Biñan, Laguna.
The cafe initially served cakes, pastries and coffee, but customers —mostly locals from Biñan— kept asking for more. In no time, the small cafe evolved into a full-service restaurant. It’s customer base expanded to Metro Manila and nearby cities, making it a must-visit spot in the South, often dubbed “Biñan’s Best Kept Secret.”
The cafe is currently open for takeout only, offering cakes and pastries.
CONTENT CREATOR
At the height of the pandemic, Chef RV began creating online content with the primary objective of helping fellow Filipinos find alternative sources of income. He shared his own recipes and tips, enabling viewers to produce quality products they could easily sell.
His videos quickly gained popularity, as viewers found the recipes foolproof, straightforward, and —most importantly— delicious. His signature line, “Kung saan ka masaya,” is heard in almost every video. It serves as a reminder that it’s okay to use alternatives and adjust recipes according to one’s own taste. Ultimately, the line aims to empower viewers to embrace their creativity and resourcefulness.
